Right-click TVPaint desktop shortcut -> Properties -> Change icon lets you select from assorted TVP icons, or you can browse to select a custom icon.

By all means backup all folders. Whenever I do a complete uninstall of TVP, almost everything is gone with about two items left in the folder. I'm not even sure you need to uninstall though. I'd make a backup in any case and first see what happens when you just install the new over the old. thanx P...
