Forgot to say that the TVPaint Animation Pro version I've got is 10.5.2-64 bits.

I experience the same with a Wacom Intuos 4 (on a iMac/OSX 10.8.5). When I open my mail or some other application, it takes a while for my pen to become responsive. Using a mouse works right away. Extremely annoying and dysfunctional. In Photoshop, on the other hand, works right away.
