Sound isn't there

Post by Krel »

So I "Load Sound" and the song appears, but there are no waves. When you play the animation there is no sound. I've tried many .mp3s, .wavs, and .aifs. The scrubbing area is just empty. Once I loaded a song that had the waves of first 0.5 seconds or so. So only 0.5 seconds of the beginning of the song could be heard.

Any ideas?

OS is Windows 7, TVP Animation 9.

TVP shows that the file loaded... but the file has no waves/data.

I attached an image so you can see the problem.

Looks like your sound does not contain anything.

I advise you to re-export it, using a different codec.

No luck yet. But thanks for your help everyone.
This happens to any .mp3 or .wav. I've tried many many different types of files and music. These files used to work before in tvp.
I can't send you that song because the composer said not to share it with anyone yet. Also the forum won't let me upload .mp3

Even a file with 2 seconds ? We don't need the whole song/sound.

The last time we had the problem, the file was in 5.1 surround, so not handled by TVPaint.

So a 2 second wav file worked fine in TVP... but not a 1 minute version.
Strange. Why would a short wav work and not a longer one?
I tried to load a long mp3 128kbps stereo and another that was joint stereo and both only showed about 1/30th of a second of sound. Which is interesting because the frame rate is 30fps.
This forum won't let me upload a wav or mp3 no matter how small. Do you still need the files? I think the sound files will work in your TVP. I've tried so many different mp3s in mine.

Perhaps you can send me a sound file to my email at narekrel@gmail.com and I will load it into TVP and show you a screenshot. Or I can send the files to your email.

Ok I have it solved... I needed to run the 32bit version of TVP. For some reason the other version(64-bit?) of TVP has glitchy sound loading with windows 7.
Thanks everyone. I think I am fine now.
