Exporting .PSD sequence for Storyboarding

Hello Tvpaint Community!

I'm using Tvpaint 12 Pro to storyboard, and my workflow is to export a sequence of .PSD images and then use Adobe Bridge 2005 as the interface where I reorder the storyboards etc. and open them on Photoshop to draw any adjustments as I continue tweaking the sequence (so I can't have flattened files). I am having trouble exporting a .PSD sequence that I can preview on Adobe Bridge.

When I export from "Project: Display", the resulting PSDs contain layers representing every frame, but background+linework are flattened which doesn't work for me. Same with "Clip: Display". The only way I can get a batch of images that I can view as a sequence on Bridge is through "Clip: Layers Structure", but the resulting images only show the PSD logo,

and when I try to open in Photoshop 2025, I get the error "Couldn’t open “Clip_LayersStructure00000.psd” because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop."

The weird thing is that the exported .PSDs from "Project: Display" and "Clip: Display" are compatible with Photoshop, but not the ones exported from "Clip: Layers Structure".

Does anyone know what I can do? Is this a compatibility issue? Should I revert to an older version of Photoshop? Thank you so much!

Hm, as I don't have any recent PS version: could you check if, when saving a PSD from PS, you still get the choide "save in legacy format" (or something like that) "to improve compatibility with older versions"? And what's the PS version number? (see in "about")

I'm on MacOS v. 12.7.1 (intel Mac), using TVPaint 12.0.3 and Photoshop 2025. I can not duplicate the issue you are describing where Photoshop won't open the .psd file exported from Clip: Layer(s) Structure tab in TVPaint. The file opens normally in Photoshop 2025. (I am not going through Adobe Bridge, just exporting to .psd from Clip:Layer(s) Structure tab , then opening the .psd file by double-clicking to open it in Photoshop 2025.)
