Work area colour fill

Hi - I've accidentally hit a button and changed something and can't undo it! The blank are in my project window OUTSIDE the camera view window (see attached) ]has gone from light grey (or whatever it was before) to black. How do I change it back? Thanks.

You clicked on the camera tool, so you enable the camera view. To disable it, click on "display" (at the right bottom corner) and uncheck "show camera".
Plus, if you want to correct your post, you can use the "Edit" button

it looks like you've changed your Camera's "passepartout" setting,
in the Display Settings panel, check if its opacity/transparency value is somewhere between 0 and 100%,
(by default, it should be enable, with a setting around 25 or 30% I think).
